An hour later they were safely within the courthouse walls and ensconced in a holding room off the courtroom, with Raine, her father and the prosecutor seated at the table, Trent leaning against the wall and Storm was wearing a divot in the ugly checkerboard flooring as he stared at his phone. It was about thirty minutes before the trial was supposed to start so the prosecutor was giving Raine tips for her testimony. She looked up at Storm and caught his eyes, “What should I do?”

He stopped for a moment and stared at her, “You knock ‘em dead in there, Braddock. I want nothing less than the best from you in there. He’s going to be fine, they’re going to get him, don’t you worry.”
